What is wrong with Singaporeans nowadays?

Let me narrate these two anecdotes to brighten up your day.

This morning, while i was in the MRT going off to work, a lady and her son was sitting beside me.
Apparently, she was sending her son to school and she was revising her son spelling test.
Her son is a real charmer, think around 4-5 years old.
And i feel that he is wiser beyond his age with the quirky remarks he dished out to his mum over the spelling quiz.
The amusing part was just before they were alighting.
The mum took out a ziplock bag with a slice of bread and started feeding the boy.
Haha.. Guess what?
The boy told the mum this," Mum, don't you know its wrong to eat in the train?"
The mum told him because he is running late for his class so he have to eat in the train now.
The boy sheepishly ate and was cupping his two hands, following his mum breaking the bread into small pieces to feed him, afraid of the bread crumbs falling onto the seat and floor.
Aww.. Isn't that sweet?

On Tuesday night i was at Bugis Mac waiting for my manager and a candidate for interview.
There was this man, around 40 years old and able-bodied.
He was going around approaching teenagers at Starbucks with a big red plastic bag containing packets of tissues.
Well, given his appearance; tall, tan and able-bodied, no one was convinced or sympathetic enough to buy from him.
And the man was grumbling to himself in his dialect-Hokkien.
Know what he said?
"What's wrong with Singaporean nowadays, all no money even to buy tissues"

Well, like the saying goes;
Same shit but only different day.
